Debut Show Results

17th February 2024 | Llantarnam Church Hall, Cwmbran

Overdrive Championship Wrestling made it’s long-awaited debut in front of a sold-out Llantarnam Church Hall in Cwmbran. Humble beginnings or not, Overdrive’s stars gave everything they had for the Cwmbran fans, putting on a show the likes of which the town had never seen before.

JAMES ELLIS def. JORDAN SPARKES

With his scheduled opponent Aluna unable to compete due to injury, James Ellis took to the microphone to issue an open challenge to whoever was backstage willing to go one-on-one with The Brilliance. Answering the challenge - the Supernatural Jordan Sparkes!

These two had an electric back and forth match with Ellis taking the victory after a rake to the eyes and using the ropes for extra leverage on the cover.

JAY JOSHUA def. ALEX VAUGHAN

Jay Joshua made an impressive debut at Overdrive with a hard-fought victory over the tenacious Alex Vaughan. Vaughan targetted Joshua’s ankle, trying to cut the bigger man down to size, but despite his efforts, ‘Sicker than Your Average’ was able to land the muscle buster to finish Vaughan after an intense contest.

JOSH HOLLY def. DANI LUNA

Josh Holly promised Dani Luna the fight of her life before she flies off to superstardom in TNA Wrestling - and that is exactly what he gave her. This one was a certified classic as two of the best in Wales went head to head. Luna took control early on with her phenomenal strength and power, while Josh Holly used his wit to target Luna’s surgically-reconstructed knee. Capitalising on her historic knee injuries, Holly wore down the former WWE Superstar until she was forced to tap out to the devastating Figure Four Leg Lock.

LEON CAGE & CURT ATLAS def. SPLITS McPINS & ECHO

Tag team action next as Curt Atlas and Leon Cage teamed up to take on Splits McPins and Echo! This one was wild, with Splits and Echo needing to take a breather on more than one occasion - Atlas and Cage’s energy were off the charts! Splits and Echo’s aggression allowed them to take control for a large portion of the match, but high impact offense from Curt Atlas, and a beautiful springboard cutter from Leon Cage gave this makeshift team the victory!

HARRISON BENNETT def. BRENDAN WHITE

This main event had a little bit of everything - these two have a lot of history and Brendan White’s negative comments about Harrison Bennett’s hometown of Cwmbran in the build-up to the show made for an epic encounter!

This absolute war ended up in a brawl all over the hall, with the two using everything they could find to hurt each each other - their bodies, their surroundings, even the fans got involved! However, wrestling in his hometown for the first time in his seven-year career, nothing was stopping Harrison Bennett from picking up the victory tonight!
